Richard G. Clark

Richard G. Clark, age 89, of Storm Lake, Iowa died November 22, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services will take place Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements. Richard Guy Clark was born March 10, 1933 to Grant and Velma (Steward) Clark in Adaza, Iowa. He graduated high school from Churdan Public in 1953. Richard served in the United States Army from September 10, 1953 to August 5, 1955. He served in the Korean War, earning the National Defense Medal and Army of Occupation Medal from his service in Germany. He was baptized in 1958 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jefferson, Iowa. More recently, Richard was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa where he served on the Hospitality Ministers and the St. Mary’s Booster Club. On June 14, 1958, Richard married Karen Dimig at St. Joseph’s Church in Jefferson, Iowa. To this union, three children were born: Melanie, Lesa, and Blake. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and was passionate about fishing and hunting. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his family. Richard enjoyed working at Hy-Grade and Iowa Central Community College. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish Richard’s memory is his wife, Karen Clark of Storm Lake, Iowa; children: Melanie (Robert) Pries of Sioux City, Iowa; Lesa (Bill) Todd of Storm Lake, Iowa; Blake (Lori) Clark of Park Rapids, Minnesota; sister: Berniece Taylor of Jefferson, Iowa; grandchildren: Matt (Sylvia) Todd of Storm Lake, Iowa; Nicole Moninger of Sioux City, Iowa; Kayla (Eric) Rojas of Sioux City, Iowa; Kaleb Clark of Gillet Wyoming, Iowa; Hope (Ridge) Brown of Nevis, Minnesota; Alexis (DeAngelo) Davis of Sioux City, Iowa; great-grandchildren: Brendon Todd, Gunnar Moninger, Dylan Todd, Aaliyah Rojas and sisters-in-law; Rita Clark of Des Moines, Iowa; Joyce Clark of Jefferson, Iowa; nieces; nephews; extended family and friends. Richard is preceded in death by his infant son, Cary Grant Clark; parents: Velma and Grant Clark; parents-in-law: Leo and Dorothy Dimig; brothers: Eugene (Bertha) Clark; Melvin Clark; Duane Clark; sister: Phyllis (Kenny) Meyer; brother-in-law: Richard Johnson; nephews: Chad Johnson; Scott Dimig; Rodney Dimig; several in-laws and family.
