Pat Fisher

Pat Fisher, age 64, of Lakeside, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will take place Friday, March 18, 2016 from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Storm Lake Foundation Project Engage. At visitation, guests are welcome to wear their "Team Fisher" shirts or white and green. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Patricia Helen Fisher was born September 10, 1951 in Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Virginia (Burkhart) Hussey. Pat attended school in Storm Lake, graduating from Storm Lake High School in 1969. She continued her education at William Penn College where she graduated in 1973, with a degree in sociology. On October 29, 1972, Pat was united in marriage to Dennis Fisher in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with four children: Brian, Mathew, Gregory, and Melanie. Pat was a member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Pat’s passion for involvement in the youth and the Storm Lake community was like none other. She was a member of the Field of Dreams Board, Storm Lake School District Foundation, Rotary, Kiwanis, Project Engage, and also the youth softball, baseball, and bowling boards. As the Community Education Director for the Storm Lake School District, Pat was able to impact the lives of many. Pat was a sports fanatic. She enjoyed watching all of the Storm Lake sports to support the youth of Storm Lake, watching her kids play co-ed softball, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. Even throughout her involvement, Pat always put her family first. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s activities, take family vacations, and spend time on the lake. Pat also liked to play cards in her card club, and go on lunch dates with close friends. Pat will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, mentor, and role model to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dennis Fisher of Lakeside, Iowa; children: Brian Fisher of Urbandale, Iowa; Mathew (Amanda) Fisher of Storm Lake, Iowa; Melanie Fisher of Storm Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Tay and Jenna Fisher of Storm Lake, Iowa; mother-in-law, Gerry Fisher of Oskaloosa, Iowa; sister-in-law, Donna Hussey of Storm Lake, Iowa and her children: Kris (Matt), Kim (Jason), Steve (Amber); brother-in-law: Lee (Becky) Fisher of Fort Knox, Kentucky and their children: Michael (Sarah), Laura (Alex), Kaleb; sister-in-law, Barb Marshall of Columbia, Missouri and her children: Geri (Ron), Sarah (Eric), and Jeremy; extended family and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; Donald and Virginia Hussey; son, Gregory Fisher; brother, Richard Hussey, and father-in-law, George Fisher.
