Lynn DePrez, age 76, of Alta, Iowa died on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at her home in Alta. Drive In Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the west parking lot and west green space of Summit Evangelical Free Church in Alta. A time of visiting and refreshments will take place one hour prior to the service on the west lawn. In memory of Lynn’s caring and giving spirit, please consider giving a donation to offer help and hope to the 300 India orphans living in the Immanuel Orphanage who are sponsored by Summit Church. Lynn Sharon Yerger DePrez died on June 16, 2020 at 7:15 a.m. She was born in Santa Monica, California on May 9, 1944. After graduating from Fremont Senior High School, she attended Midland College and graduated with a degree in Education and later completed hours toward her Masters. In 1964 she married her high school sweetheart Darell DePrez of Fremont. She taught Speech and English in both Fremont and Norfolk, Nebraska and assisted her husband Darell in the grocery store in Alta, Iowa for 15 years. Later, she became a Behavioral Health Consultant working with children and their families in the surrounding community. In addition, she worked as a Social Services Consultant where she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all the residents of the nursing home and her co-workers. Lynn leaves behind her husband Darell, son Eric DePrez and his wife Joelle, daughter Tricia Shive and husband Kevin, son Doug DePrez and his wife Katie along with ten grandchildren; (Eric’s children) Ethan, Elliott, Ezra, Emily, (Tricia’s children) Samuel and Elliana, (Doug’s children) Ava, Davison and Adie and grandson Michael Salazar, brother Brad Yerger wife Gloria and Jeff Yerger wife Jae and sister-in-law DyAnn Sorensen as well as many nieces and nephews , all who know this is not goodbye, just “I will see you later” as they anticipate a wonderful reunion in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her parents, brother Brian and granddaughter Ella preceded her in death. She attended Summit Evangelical Free Church in Alta, Iowa. A casual, social-distancing, outdoor memorial service will be held at Summit Evangelical Free Church on Monday, June 22, 2020. If you’d like to sit on the lawn, please bring your own lawn chair and park in the east upper parking lot. A drive-in option will also be provided in the west lower lot. Family greeting, donuts and coffee at 10:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
