Lorraine Otto

Lorraine Otto, age 95, of Storm Lake, Iowa, formerly of Alta, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake. Funeral services will take place Monday, March 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alta, Iowa. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Alta is in charge of the arrangements. Lorraine Francis Kolpin was born March 25, 1927 to Albert and Martha (Lehmann) Kolpin in Aurelia, Iowa. She was baptized as an infant at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Aurelia and later confirmed her faith in 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Most recently, Lorraine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alta, Iowa where she served on Altar Guild. Lorraine was united in marriage to Marvin Otto on April 6, 1947, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia. The couple was blessed with four children: Richard, Harlan, Darwin, and Darlene. Lorraine enjoyed baking, sewing, embroidery, quilting, and playing cards. She loved listening to country music. More than anything, Lorraine relished time with her family. She and Marvin especially enjoyed taking trips and going on vacations with their children. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children: Richard (Diana) Otto of Aurelia, Iowa; Harlan (Linda) Otto of Meridian, Idaho; Darwin (Debbie) Otto of Sac City, Iowa; Darlene Ling of Glenwood, Iowa; grandchildren: Melissa (Kevin) Fahy of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; April (Kyle) Maas of Duncombe, Iowa; Robert Otto of Meridian, Idaho; Jessica Otto of Meridian, Idaho; Katherine (Jacob) Simmering of Iowa City, Iowa; Aaron Ling of Glenwood, Iowa; Tyler Ling of Knoxville, Tennessee, great-grandchildren: Avery Fahy of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Brynlee, Brecken, and Brenna Maas of Duncombe, Iowa: Charlotte Simmering of Iowa City, Iowa; Hudson and Briar Ling of Glenwood, Iowa: many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Martha (Lehmann) Kolpin, husband: Marvin Otto; brother in laws: Milton Otto; Vernon Otto; Arnold Otto; sister in laws: Erna Sievers; Dorothy Winterhof; and Lavonne Sievers.
