Kenne A. Steen

Kenne Adrian Steen, age 51, of Schaller, Iowa died August 24, 2022 at his home in Schaller. A Celebration of Life service will take place Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 1-3 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements. Kenne Adrian Steen was born on September 25th, 1970 to Linda (Rath) Steen and Kenne Steen. He was welcomed home by his older sister Dawn. When together, those two could be quite a handful! Kenne graduated from Schaller Highschool in 1989. Just shy of graduating highschool, Kenne welcomed home his younger sister Mallory and younger brother Matthew. Mallory loved teasing her older brother Kenne when he would come home for a visit from the service, but when Kenne had enough he would often send her away with a whip of a wet towel. Kenne and Matt enjoyed a good game of hide and seek and that often resulted in Kenne forgetting to seek and Matt falling asleep in a tote of towels. Shortly after high school, Kenne enlisted into the Army. He was an electrician and worked for Menega Electric for years. Kenne had many hobbies and interests including music, electrical work, rock carving, and wood working. He had an amazing talent of constructing some of the most beautiful wood tabletops. Kenne was an avid Chiefs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He had a love for eagles. The one thing in life that was most dear to him was his friendly canine companion Tug. He would describe him as a small dog with a big attitude. Kenne met his long-standing girlfriend Marsha Johnson and while their relationship ended, the bond between Kenne and her girls (Nicki, Brita, and Serena) remained strong. The girls enjoyed Kenne’s cooking the most. As mentioned above his love for music allowed for singing in the car to the song “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” and Karaoke was always a good time. Of course, his sense of humor wasn’t far behind when he would ask “heads or tails” with a nickel that was glued together to always be heads. Kenne also enjoyed spending time with his family in Oregon, and really loved being at the family cabin at Odell Lake. His spirit animal, Loner the Wolf, was in this magical place. It is something he and his dad shared together. Kenne will be missed by all. He was a wonderful man, with a huge heart, and would give the shirt off his back. He had a quirky sense of humor and was a deep thinker. He is survived by his siblings: Mallory (Rick) Roling; Matthew Anderson; nieces and nephews: Steven (Kayle) Larson; Brittany (Nicholas) Martin; Nash and Finley Roling; uncle: Bob (Kathi) Steen; cousins: Jennifer Steen Reavis, Patrick Steen, Shaun Mileham and Shelli Berry; his life long best friend: Scott (Chrisy) Bailey; and several aunts uncles and cousins on his mother’s side. He is preceded in death by his mother: Linda Anderson; father: Kenne Steen; and sister: Dawn Larson.
