Darold Sievers

Darold Dean Sievers, age 89, of Lakeside, Iowa died Friday, March 5, 2021 at his home in Lakeside. Memorial services will take place Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. To watch the recording of the service, please visit Darold's tribute wall. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Storm Lake. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church: 402 Lake Avenue N. Storm Lake, Iowa 50588. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Darold Dean Sievers, the son of Otto and Lenora (Minden) Sievers, was born on May 7, 1931 in Storm Lake, Iowa. As an infant, Darold was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake where he was later confirmed in 1946. Growing up, Darold attended grade school and high school in Storm Lake. He graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1949. On March 17, 2001, Darold was united in marriage to Terra Sheehan at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Throughout his life, Darold was a farmer. He retired in December of 2014. In his free time, Darold enjoyed being outdoors whether it was camping, fishing, or sitting out in the sunshine. He also enjoyed riding his Roadmaster Bicycle in parades and ball room dancing at Cobblestone. Above all, Darold loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Terra Sievers of Lakeside, Iowa; Darold’s children: Curt (Sonja) Sievers of Linn Grove, Iowa; Mark (Jill) Sievers of Cameron, Missouri; Jill Marie (Gary) Hansen of Marion, Iowa; stepchildren: Brad (Natalia) Meyer of Lincoln, Nebraska; Kenley (Lizzy) Meyer of Sloan, Iowa; Justin (Jayme) Deal of Sully, Iowa; Shawn (Laci) Deal of Rockwell City, Iowa; grandchildren: Alie Sievers, Kasey (Taylor) Sievers, Mollie (Colton) White, Quinton Sievers, Jordan, Noah, and Garrett Hansen; step grandchildren: Brody and Natalie Meyer, Connor, Chase, and Caulen Deal, Kade, Evelyn, Aubri, Ariyah, and Kai Deal; extended family and friends. Darold was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lenora Sievers; brother, Delbert Sievers; nephew, Paul Sievers; stepson, Chris Meyer.
