Cathy Sydnor

Cathy A. Sydnor, age 63, of Schaller, Iowa died Saturday, August 21, 2021 at her home in Schaller. Memorial service will take place Friday, August 27, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Schaller. Visitation will take place Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in SCHALLER. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ALS Organization, Iowa Chapter or to the First Presbyterian Church of Schaller, Iowa in Cathy's Name. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements. Cathy Adele (Tucker) Sydnor was born October 1, 1957 in Texas, the daughter of James and Catherine (Gully) Tucker. Growing up, she attended grade school at Neff Elementary and graduated from Sharpstown High School in 1976. Following high school, Cathy attended and graduated from University of Houston in 1980 with honors in Marketing. Cathy was confirmed in 1971 at the First Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas. Later, she attended the First Presbyterian Church in Schaller, Iowa where she held several offices. On June 17, 2006, Cathy was united in marriage to Michael Sydnor at the First Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Texas. Cathy enjoyed many activities such as organizing social events with friends and providing food for local families. Church was very important to Cathy and she enjoyed volunteering throughout the church and leading Bible studies. She loved reading and watching NCIS and JAG. Cathy treasured traveling and spending time with family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Michael Sydnor of Schaller, Iowa; father-in-law, Granville Sydnor of Denton, Texas; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Sydnor of Pasadena, Texas; Kathleen Sydnor of Baytown, Texas; brothers-in-law: James (Jim) Sydnor of Denton, Texas; Duane Palmer of Houston, Texas; Marc Sydnor of Denver, Colorado; William (Will) Sydnor of Glendale, Arizona; step-sons: David Sydnor of Sac City, Iowa and Stephen Sydnor of Houston, Texas. Cathy was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Palmer; mother-in-law, Jackie Sydnor.
