Bobby Jo Winslow

Bobby Jo Winslow, age 63, of Milford, Iowa and formerly of Newell, Iowa died September 18, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Bobby Petersen was born September 28, 1948 in Owatonna, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Gerald and Delores (Rousch) Petersen. She was baptized in 1960 at the Baptist Church in Newell, IA. Bobby graduated from Newell Providence High school in 1967. She then earned her Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Social Science from Buena Vista College. Bobby married Bryan Jewell on April 13, 1969. During their marriage their son, Justin joined their family. On May 13, 1978, Bobby was united in marriage to Jon Winslow at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Newell, Iowa. Bobbyâ€™s passion was for family. She worked for 30 years as a social worker for Buena Vista County. Her coworkers became family and an important part of her life. She was very proud of her ancestry and fulfilled her dream of going to Denmark to research it in 2008. She was a woman of many interests. She was an avid reader, immensely enjoyed shopping on QVC and trips with â€œthe girlsâ€, made numerous beautiful quilts, collected antiques, enjoyed movies, concerts and traveling. Her favorite annual trip was to Galena, Illinois, craft shopping with her husband Jon. She was a fun, loving person who had a contagious positive attitude and smile. When you least expected it, Bobby had a card in the mail to let you know she was thinking of you. God willing, she never missed a birthday, holiday, celebration or gathering. If her car could go and wheels would turn, she was on the road ready to go. Her endless thoughtfulness and love will be dearly missed. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Jon Winslow of Milford, IA; son: Justin (fiancÃ©, Shantel Kathman) Jewell of Spencer, IA; grandchildren: Jeremy and Dalton Lorenzen, Christian and Austin Jewell; Aaron Kathman; her long awaited great granddaughter: Hallie Fletcher; mother: Delores (Norm) Newbury of Alta, IA; stepmother: Marylinn Petersen of Wahpeton, IA; parents-in-law: Chester and Leona Winslow of Milford, IA; sisters: Jerri Long of Newell, IA; Lynn (Norm) Hogrefe of Storm Lake, IA; half-sister: Michelle (Brian) Kruger of State of Washington; half-brother: John Survis of Austin, TX; stepsister: Beth (Kent) Wolcott of Wahpeton, IA; brother-in-law: Les (Diane) Winslow of Carmichael, CA; sisters-in-law: Carol (Marvin) Feldhacker of Houston, TX; Jolene (Lee) Fransdal of Lakeville, MN; aunt: Shirley Freese of Newell, IA; uncle Everett (Shizu) Roush of Vacaville, CA; aunt Karen Roush, Maine: many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
