Alma M Boettcher

Alma M. Boettcher, age 98, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place Friday, November 14, 2014 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Alma Meta Amanda Louise Buchholz was born December 10, 1915, the daughter of Fredrich H. and Ida (Hartje) Buchholz on a farm in Grant Township, Buena Vista County, Storm Lake. She lived on the farm and received her education at Zion Lutheran Parochial School. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church all her life. Alma was baptized on January 10, 1916 and later confirmed on April 13, 1930. On October 10, 1946, Alma was united in marriage to Wilbur H. Boettcher of Albert City. To this union four children were born: Dean, Dale, Donna and Don. As a family they lived on the farm near Rembrandt, Iowa. Wilbur passed away in 1967 and Alma continued to live on the farm until 1995 when she moved to Storm Lake. Alma loved gardening, canning, and fishing. She also enjoyed attending basketball and baseball and went to most all her children and grandchildren’s ballgames. She loved to play cards and bingo. Alma treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Dean (Linda) Boettcher of Adel, Iowa; Dale (Roberta) Boettcher of Albert City, Iowa; Donna (Ray) Hemphill of Adel, Iowa; and Don “Punk” Boettcher of Rembrandt, Iowa; grandchildren: Tony Boettcher of Albert City, Iowa; Todd (Erica) Boettcher of Rembrandt, Iowa; Tara (Ryan) Henrichsen of Rochester, Minnesota; Damon (Kayce) Boettcher of Frisco, Texas; Trevor (Kylee) Boettcher of Panora, Iowa; Matthew (Amy) Hemphill of Adel, Iowa; Lindsay Hemphill (fiancé, Dominic Dittman) of West Des Moines, Iowa; great grandchildren: Noah, Ella and Anna Henrichsen; Landon, Dalton, and Judson Boettcher; Danielle, Karly, and Carter Boettcher; Tyme, Trey, and Tyce Boettcher; sister, Leona Boettcher of Storm Lake, Iowa; extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; her parents, Fredrich and Ida Buchholz; three sisters: Paula Madison, Dorthea Kruse and Lea Gaes; and three brothers: Art, Walter and Raymond Buchholz.
