Stephen Lilly

Stephen Lilly, age 75, of Fonda, Iowa died Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake, Iowa. Memorial services will take place Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Sebastian, Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda, Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Catholic Cemetery in Fonda. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. The Mahaney Funeral Home in Fonda is in charge of the arrangements. Stephen Harold Lilly was born December 8, 1947 to Harold Steven and Florine Arline (Wiese) Lilly in Laurens, Iowa. He was baptized at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda, Iowa. Stephen attended school at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School in Fonda, graduating in 1967. On November 15, 1968, Stephen was united in marriage to Patricia Marie Wolter in Fonda. To this union, three children were born: Stephen Charles, Joseph Louis, and Timothy Patrick. Stephen served on the Fonda Fire Department for 16 years and served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. He worked for the City of Fonda for about 20 years and was known for being a handyman. Stephen also drove truck over the road with his brother, Larry. In his free time, Stephen was passionate about anything involving cars and trucks, especially model cars and car shows. Stephen loved going for car rides with Patricia in their yellow convertible on summer days. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish Stephen’s memory include his children: Stephan Lilly of Klemne, Iowa; Joseph (Missy) Lilly of Luverne, Iowa; Timothy (Jessica) Lilly of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters: Jeannie (Steve) Lilly; Mary (Clark) Meyer; sister-in-law: Dixie Lilly; grandchildren: Courtney (Neal) Hazen; Kyle Lilly; Robert Lilly; Alexander Lilly; Joey (Crystal) Lilly; Mercedes (Josh) Enos; Staci (Jake) Schwlerking; Samara Luvaas-Lilly; great grandchildren: Payten; Andrew; Aidan; Abigail; Landyn; Kenzley; Jocelyn; Elliot; Asher; Mac; Catalina; Ivy; Kalila; Aizik; Hunter; Lillian; Adia; Skyler; Hally; Dominik; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold Steven and Florine Arline (Wiese) Lilly; wife: Patricia Lilly; and brother: Larry Lilly.
