Norman Lee Hendriks

Norman Lee Hendriks, age 81, of Storm Lake, Iowa died on March 1, 2022, surrounded by family in his home. Memorial Services will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home in STORM LAKE. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements. Norman Lee Hendriks was born November 19, 1940 to Ben and Lucy (VanderLinden) Hendriks in Edgerton, Minnesota. Growing up, he attended Edgerton Public School and graduated in 1959. Norman was a dedicated member of the Storm Lake United Methodist Church. Norman was united in marriage to Janice Beukelman on February 19, 1960 in Edgerton, Minnesota. To this union, three children were born: Vic, Kirk, and Stef. Norman worked as the groundskeeper at Buena Vista University until his retirement in 2006. Norman loved traveling, both domestic and international, with his beloved wife, Jan. He was a proud member of the “House of Knowledge” and enjoyed doing puzzles in his free time. At harvest time, Norman could be found helping to bring in the year’s crop. More than anything, Norman loved his time with family. He was passionate about supporting his grandchildren and attending their sporting events and extracurricular activities. Norman will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Norman is survived by his wife, Jan Hendriks of Storm Lake, Iowa; children: Vic (Mary) Hendriks of Wynstone, South Dakota; Kirk (Deanna) Hendriks of Corsicana, Texas; Stef (Paul) Merten of Storm Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Matt Hendriks of Irving, Texas; Nikki (Justin) Walterbach of Euless, Texas; Evan (Nikki) Hendriks of Marina Del Ray, California; Alex Merten of Storm Lake, Iowa; brother-in-law: Brad (Darla) Beukelman; brother-in-law: Robert (Marcia) Beukelman; sister-in-law: Ann Hendriks; brother-in-law: Dennis Fey; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Lucy (VanderLinden) Hendriks; brothers: Wes Hendriks; Mel Hendriks; sister: Linda Fey; and sister-in-law: Millie Hendriks.
