Lyle Jackson

January 11, 1937 - December 20, 2019

Lyle Jackson, 82, of Storm Lake, Iowa died on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake. Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to UnityPoint Hospice, 112 W 5th St. Storm Lake, IA 50588 or to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1614 W 5th St. Storm Lake, Iowa 50588. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Lyle Merton Jackson, the son of Leonard and Ida (Klocko) Jackson, was born on January 11, 1937 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Lyle was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He attended grade school and high school at Palmer Public. Lyle graduated from Palmer Public High School in 1955. In October of 1955, Lyle enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his time of service, he served in Okinawa. Lyle was honorably discharged in October of 1961. On June 4, 1961, Lyle was united in marriage to Barbara K. Hegna in Rembrandt, Iowa. The couple was blessed with three children: Scott, Mark, and Brian. Throughout his working career, Lyle worked at Hygrade and in maintenance and engineering at BVRMC. He retired in March of 1999. Lyle was a member of the VFW and the property board at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. During his free time, Lyle enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Barbara K. Jackson of Storm Lake, Iowa; children, Mark A. Jackson of Storm Lake, Iowa and Brian (Wendy) L. Jackson of Sioux City, Iowa; brother, Gary Jackson of Reed Springs, Missouri; brother-in-law, Eldon Julius of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren: Bryant (Amanda) Jackson of Yankton, South Dakota; Courtney (Duncan) Hall of Racine, Wisconsin; Derek (Tessa) Jackson of Sioux City, Iowa; Kyleigh Jackson of San Diego, California; Nick (Emily) Jackson of Clovis, New Mexico; Cheyenne Jackson of Sioux City, Iowa; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Jackson, Rilyn Jackson, Ainsley Hall, Cooper Hall, and Harper Jackson; extended family and friends. Lyle was preceded in death by his son, Scott Jackson; parents, Leonard and Ida Jackson; sisters: Loretta (Eldon) Julius, Lamona Jackson, and Norma Jackson; and sister-in-law, Shirley Jackson.
