Lou Ann M. Paulsen, age 85, of Storm Lake, Iowa died on January 31, 2022 in Storm Lake. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 12:00 pm at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The family invites you to lunch and a time of fellowship at the funeral home immediately following the service. Burial will be in Galva Township East Cemetery in Galva, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements. Lou Ann M. (Olson) Paulsen was born on May 8, 1936 to William and Viola (Hollender) Olson in Holstein, Iowa. She had two sisters, twins, Louella and Loretta, and two brothers, Willard and Wendell. She received her education from Galva High School. After high school, she was united in marriage to Virgil Paulsen on August 12, 1951 at the Galva Lutheran Church. The couple was blessed with three children: Patti, Kevin, and Brian. Lou Ann was passionate about antiques and had a huge collection of dolls and teddy bears. She and her husband, Virgil, traveled to antique shows all throughout the United States. Lou Ann owned Lou’s Antique Shop in Storm Lake for 40 years and has a booth in the Spirit Lake Antique Mall. At one time, Lou Ann also owned Lou’s Next to New in Storm Lake. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Lou Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Patti (Bruce) Paulsen-Taylor; Kevin (Mary Anne) Paulsen; Brian (Meredith) Paulsen; grandchildren: Shawn Nelson (Christa); Tina (Kory) Zimney; Chris Weishaar; Bruce Dell Taylor (Dom); Josh (Elizabeth) Paulsen; Mike (Ashley) Paulsen; Todd (Jenn) Paulsen; Erik Paulsen; Cody Paulsen; Kerry (Paul) Venuti; Morgan Paulsen; 16 great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. Lou Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Paulsen; parents: William and Viola (Hollender) Olson; parents-in-law: Harold and Clara Paulsen; brothers: Bud Willard Olson; Wimp Wendell Olson; sisters: Loretta Lauer; Louella Rockwell; great-granddaughter: Lexie Zimney; great-grandson: Gunnar Nelson.
