Lindall "Lindy" LeRoy Rydberg, age 64, of Schaller, Iowa, died January 27, 2022 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Schaller-Crestland Elementary Gymnasium in Schaller, Iowa. Burial will follow in Schaller Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 at 4:30-8 pm at Schaller-Crestland Elementary Gymnasium in SCHALLER. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of arrangements. Lindall “Lindy” LeRoy Rydberg was born on September 26, 1957 to Dwayne and Carol (Beach) Rydberg in Sac City, Iowa. Lindy was raised on the family farm near Schaller with his siblings, Randy and Darla. He attended Schaller High School graduating in 1976. After high school, Lindy started his farming career beside his father to then share his passion of farming beside his son. Lindy felt at home working the land and feeding his cattle. Lindy was united in marriage to Tangy Galvin on March 21, 1980 and through this marriage, he was blessed with 2 children: Mandy and Kelly. Lindy was a kind and gentle soul to all. He also had the biggest and softest heart! He was a neighbor to many, never hesitating to lend a hand to anyone in need. Family was Lindy’s priority. When Lindy wasn’t working, he always made a priority to go up and spend time with his kids and grandkids when they called and wanted to spend time together with him. It might have been a simple request to come up for a night of playing a game or two, watching TV or a movie, or filling our belly with a good home cooked meal, but he always came if the work was done early enough. His grandchildren always looked forward to his warm smile at their activities, birthdays, holidays, and many sporting events. Their grandpa Lindy was their #1 fan! They also loved going out to eat with their grandpa many Sunday nights at Pizza Ranch and going for ice cream at Dairy Queen after many sporting events. Lindy enjoyed hunting, fishing trips to Canada, and playing cards. He was a member of the Iowa Cattleman’s Association and the Sac County Pheasants Forever. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Lindy is survived by children: Mandy (John) Harder of Storm Lake, Iowa; Kelly (Hannah) Rydberg of Schaller, Iowa; mother and step-father: Carol (Al) Zigalla of Arizona; step-mother: Janice Rydberg of Schaller, Iowa; brother: Randy Rydberg of Florida; sister: Darla (Brad) Koth of Alta, Iowa; grandchildren: Jadyn Rydberg; Mackenzie Harder; Bryson Harder; Shaylyn Harder; and Naveya Harder; Lennox Rydberg; Reed Rydberg; step-sisters: Janan (Rich) Lamb; Kris Wilder; Karen (Christopher) Bailey; Kathy (Scott) King; step-brother: Dan (Lori) Wilder; foreign exchange student: Stefan Jacobsson; and many nieces and nephews. Lindy is preceded in death by his father, Dwayne Rydberg.
