Kristine Anderson

Kristine Ann (Smith) Anderson, age 61, of Harrisburg, South Dakota and formerly of Storm Lake and Alta, Iowa passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 30, 2015 in South Dakota. Memorial services will take place Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. A private family burial will follow. Visitation will take place Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Kristine (Kris), daughter of Paul and Norma (Johnson) Smith, was born in Storm Lake, Iowa. Kris grew up on a farm with her six siblings. She attended school in both Sulpher Springs and Storm Lake. She graduated from Storm Lake High School. After high school, Kris attended college at both Buena Vista University and Iowa Central Community College. In 1974, Kris was united in marriage to Jim Hildreth. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Sarah and Abigail (Abby). On May 31, 1996, Kris was united in marriage to Todd Anderson of Alta and his children Mollie and Justin. Kris was a beautiful woman and amazing at everything she did. Spending time with her family was the most important thing to her. Kris lived her life with grace, a positive outlook on life, and always put others before herself. Kris was employed at Architecture Inc. in Sioux Falls until she retired in 2013. Those left to cherish Kris’s memory include her husband, Todd M. Anderson Harrisburg, South Dakota; children, Sarah (Bill) Monroe, Yuba City, California, Abby (Charlie) Glass, Sac City, Iowa, Mollie Johnson, West Des Moines, Iowa, and Justin (Kristin) Anderson, Alta, Iowa; parents, Paul and Norma Smith, Storm Lake, Iowa; siblings, Jon Smith, Jefferson, Iowa, Paula (Ron) Long, Sac City, Iowa, Phil (Jane) Smith, Schleshwig, Iowa, Lou (Don) Krueger, Austin, Texas, Sarah (Fred) Selinger, Urbandale, Iowa, and Rob (Michelle) Smith, Storm Lake, Iowa; grandchildren, Max Burnett, Evan Lykins, Millie Glass, Nicholas Monroe, Gavin Anderson, Mira Monroe, Josie Johnson, Mary Penelope Glass, Rex Johnson, and Nolin Anderson; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Kris was preceded in death by her grandparents Art and Elva Johnson and Albert and Mary Penelope (Mayme) Smith.
