Judy Krebs Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Judith K. Krebs, age 78, of Storm Lake, Iowa died peacefully at her home with her family present on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 402 Lake Avenue, Storm Lake, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Judy was born on January 9, 1943 to Pete and Ruth (Pruett) Mohr in Sulphur Springs and was raised on the family farm near Storm Lake. She was baptized April 1946 and confirmed June 1956. Judy attended Providence Consolidated School in Sulphur Springs, Iowa, and graduated from Sulphur Springs in 1960, as the final class. Following graduation, Judy began a long career with Citizen’s First National Bank in Storm Lake. On August 28, 1965, Judy married Sid Krebs in Salem, SD. Judy and Sid were blessed with three children: Halley, Amy, and Mitchell. After retiring from the banking industry, she shared her many talents at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in the adult daycare in Storm Lake, Iowa. When the program closed their doors, Judy found a new passion satisfying the sweet tooth of many not only locally, but across the country, by managing the candy making at Kristi’s Kandies in Storm Lake. Judy had several hobbies and enjoyed all sorts of activities including bargain-finding, lake living, and she especially cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife of nearly forty-three years, mother to three wonderful children and grandmother to eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Halley (Steve) Lee of Pierre, South Dakota; Amy (David) Fordyce of Prole, Iowa; and Mitchell (Debby) Krebs of Chicago, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Sydney and Sawyer Lee; and Abbey (Connor) Metzger, Jack and Joe Fordyce; and Emma, Will and Charlie Krebs; and one great-grandchild, Ruby Metzger; sister Pat (Bob) Peters of Ankeny; sister Cindy (Ron) Gillman of Omaha, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Sid and parents, Pete and Ruth.
