Gerald Dean Siekman, age 92, of Linn Grove, Iowa died December 30, 2021 at Careage HIlls in Cherokee, Iowa. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa. Visitation will be Monday, January 3, 2022 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Little Sioux Valley Cemetery in Rembrandt, Iowa. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cherokee Regional Medical Center Hospice, Alta VFW, or any FFA program to help encourage youth to consider the farm industry. Gerald Dean Siekman was born on September 6, 1929 to Lewis and Idella (Michelson) Siekman on a farm near Sioux Rapids, Iowa. Dean was a member of the Rembrandt Lutheran Church growing up and graduated from High View in 1946. On March 31, 1961, Gerald was united in marriage to Norma Jean Schwartz in Jackson, Minnesota. This union was blessed with births of their children: James William, Robert Lewis, and Deborah Ann. Dean served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958 and served in the Korean War. He also served on the Buena Vista FHA Board. Dean’s favorite ways to spend his time was having coffee and sweets with his friends, farming, or taking a drive around the section to look at the fields, and playing cards with his family. Gerald is survived by his children: Robert (LuCinda) Siekman of Linn Grove; Deborah Heien of Sioux Rapids; brother: Richard (Helena) Siekman of Rapid City, South Dakota; sister: Patricia Hartman of Green Valley, Arizona; grandchildren: Rachel (Steve) Sitzman of Linn Grove; Andrew (Roberta) Phinney of Omaha, Nebraska; Eric (Ashley) Weier of Des Moines; Zach (Rebecca) Weier of Sutherland, Iowa; great-grandchildren: Winnifred Sitzman; Cornelius Sitzman; Reginald Sitzman, Ryder Phinney, Allison Weier, Lane Weier. Dean is preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Schwartz) Siekman; parents: Lewis and Idella (Michelson) Siekman; son: James Siekman
