Donald R. Sievers, age 85, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society in Newell, Iowa. Funeral services will take place Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Donald R. Sievers was born February 28, 1936 in Storm Lake, the son of Edward and Elfie (Langner) Sievers. Growing up, he attended school in Newell where he graduated in 1953. Following high school graduation, Donald enlisted in the United State Army where he proudly served his country for one year until he was honorably discharged. In 1963, Donald was united in marriage to Deanne Woltman in Cherokee, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with two children: Timothy and Tracey. Donald farmed for several years near Albert City and Quimby. In 2015, he retired from farming and moved to Storm Lake. He enjoyed toy collecting, especially tractors. Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Tim Sievers of Newell, Iowa; Tracey Sievers of Quimby, Iowa; grandchildren: Nick Sievers, Raquel Nelson, Colton Sievers and Jessica Sievers; brothers: Raymond, Arlo, Gilbert, Dennis, and Philip; sisters: Alice, Gloria, Genevieve, Arlene, and Pricilla; extended family and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elfie Sievers; brother, Roland and sister, Vera.
