Darlene Eades

Darlene Eades, age 82, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Friday, December 9, 2016 at her home in Storm Lake. Memorial services will be held Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Darlene Eades was born on February 22, 1934 to Arthur and Mabel (Carlson) Elsner in Storm Lake, Iowa. Darlene graduated from Storm Lake High School. She then continued her education at Iowa Central Community College where she earned a degree in nursing. She married Donald Norman Eades on October 19, 1952 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with six children: Craig, Pamela, Patricia, Debra, Charles, and Suzanne. Darlene spent a lot of her time volunteering in the Storm Lake community. She volunteered at The Bridge of Storm Lake where she helped with food distribution and food outreach. Along with volunteering at The Bridge, Darlene was a member of the Garden Club, Senior Center, Awana, and volunteered at the Café Lattee at BVRMC. She thoroughly enjoyed helping others. Alongside volunteering in the community, Darlene loved to spend time with her family and attend family events. She also went on travels with her husband and enjoyed attending auctions. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Craig (Ronnie) Eades of Denver Colorado; Pam (Rick) Fielder of Storm Lake, Iowa; Pat Mauch of Fremont, Nebraska; Deborah Darslian of Storm Lake, Iowa; Charles (Stacia) Eades of Storm Lake, Iowa; Suzanne Eades of Storm Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Andrea (Troy) Hogrefe, Matt (Bonnie) Patten, Kendra (Gary) Minch, Melissa (Garrett Halverson) Patten, Tonya (Danny) Santos, Kyle (Breanna) Eades, Cory (Evelyn) Knoll, Tasha Weiss, Forrest (Ann) Knoll, Michael Eades, Annabelle (Juwan) Eades, Darren Eades, and Chris (Gwen) Fiedler; great-grandchildren: Chris, Zach, Madison, Camden, Elisabeth, Madelyn, Andrew, Bryce, Logan, Sofia, David, Lola, Nason (Winston), Evelyn, Micah, and Silas “Bugga Boo”. Darlene was preceded in death by her husband: Donald N. Eades; parents: Arthur and Evelyn Elsner; her three brothers: Darold Treloar and twins: Ronald and Donald Elsner; grandson: Elliott Eades; and son-in-law: Dennis Mauch.
