Audrey Jean Keller

Audrey Jean Keller, age 87, of Storm Lake, Iowa died December 25, 2017 in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Audrey Jean Grosshauser was born December 3, 1930 in rural Storm Lake the daughter of Fred and Agnes (Meseck) Grosshauser. On December 28, 1930, Audrey was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Hanover, Iowa and in 1944 she was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. Audrey attended 1st-3rd grade in rural school which was one mile from her home and 4th-8th grade at Germantown Lutheran School. In 1948, she graduated from Paullina High School. Following high school graduation, she attended Concordia Lutheran College in River Forest, Illinois where she earned her Associated Degree. She taught at St. Paul Lutheran School in Williamsburg, Iowa from 1950-1956 and Zion Lutheran School for one year in 1966. She was the school librarian in Albert City and Rolfe, Iowa until her retirement in 1996. On June 17, 1956, Audrey was united in marriage to Edgar Keller in Paullina, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with two children: Janet and Barbara. When Edgar passed away in 1975, Audrey returned to Buena Vista University to finish her degree in Library Science. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1980. Audrey was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake where she held offices in Ladies Aid and LWML as well as local clubs. She was also a member of the Happy Hour Club in Albert City. Audrey loved a good recipe and a great book. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with friends and family. Her family is blessed to carry on her legacy of living a faith-filled life. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Janet (Paul) Koenig of Omaha, Nebraska; Barbara (Paul) Zeller of Victoria, Minnesota; grandchildren: Steven Zeller of Washington, D.C.; Peter Zeller of Victoria, Minnesota; Ericka (Zach) Hall of Omaha, Nebraska; Dr. Aimee (fiancé, Jeffrey Aden) Koenig of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Jola Zeller of Minneapolis, Minnesota; great granddaughter, Nyomi Joy Hall; brother, Richard (Marilyn) Grosshauser; sister-in-law, Elsie (Robert) Schroder; brother-in-law, Ralph (Elda) Keller; extended family and friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Agnes Grosshauser; husband, Edgar Keller; sister-in-law, Dorthy Hinrichs; and brother-in-law, Edmund Hinrichs.
