Allie Laura Niles, age 64, of Ida Grove, Iowa formerly of Riverside, California was promoted to glory with family and friends by her side on Friday, February 12, 2021 at her home in Ida Grove. Promoted to Glory Service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Alta. To watch the recording of the service, please visit Allie's tribute wall. Burial will be held in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Alta at a later date. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home in ALTA. Masks and social distancing are encouraged for guests in attendance at the services. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Alta is in charge of the arrangements. Allie Laura Niles, the daughter of George and Hazel (Crawford) Niles, was born on October 24, 1956 in Riverside, California. Growing up, Allie Laura attended grade school and high school in California. After earning her high school diploma, she went on to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work. After college, Allie Laura entered the Salvation Army Training School to become an officer for the Salvation Army. During her 35 years and 21 days of service, Allie Laura served in many capacities and earned the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. She also was a member of the Songsters and Timbrels in the Salvation Army. In her free time, Allie Laura enjoyed traveling with friends and family as well as spending time with them (especially holidays and special events). She also was an avid reader, enjoyed experiencing new things, Shakespeare by the Sea events with friends, and being “auntie” to multiple friends’ children. Those left to cherish her memory include her cousins locally: Carl (Ellen) Schable, David (Kathy) Schable, Don (Valerie) Schable, Ray (Lynn) Schable, Chris Schable, Laurie (Joe) Aube; several more cousins, extended family, and close friends. Allie Laura was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel Niles.
