Veronica L. Dean

Veronica Dean, age 87, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake. Veronica Letha Lingard was born December 22, 1925, in Armstrong, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Helen (DeBates) Lingard. She was baptized on March 7, 1926 at St. Maryâ€™s Church in Armstrong. On May 8, 1946, Veronica was united in marriage to Lynn Harold Dean in Jackson, Minnesota. Together, they were blessed with eleven children: Jim, Helen, Veronica, Gary Lynn, Marcia, Beverly, Kim, Tim, Terry, Lori Ann, and Dorene. Veronica was a housewife for most of her life, proudly making her home a warm & comfortable place for her family. She worked for the Hamilton Law Firm and the Storm Lake School District. She enjoyed writing poetry and journaling on a daily basis, crocheting, baking angel food cakes, spending time tending her rose gardens, playing BINGO, doing word searches, going to the Storm Lake Dinner Date and Senior Center. In addition to her family, she loved her dog, â€œHoney Luvâ€. More than anything, Veronica loved and adored her family and cherished spending time with them. She will be remembered as a woman who always had a smile to share. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Jim (Connie) Dean of Spencer, Iowa; Helen Burroughs of Sioux City, Iowa; Veronica Eilenfeldt of Mesa, Arizona; Marcia (Larry) Pepper of Johnston, Iowa; Bev (Bob) Jones of Eldora, Iowa; Kim Dean of Mesa, Arizona; Tim Dean of Spencer, Iowa; Terry Dean of Newell, Iowa; Dorene (Dan) Ehlers of Newell, Iowa; her grandchildren: Jamie Dean; Jeffery, Michelle and Melissa Burroughs; Gary, Denise and Wade Newcomer; Heather Pepper-Geiger; Sunshine Dean-Huisman, Shiloh Dean; Kory Dean and Niki Dean-Anderson; Jordan Dean; Shannon and Adam Dean; Ryan and Jenny Ahlers; 24 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Louis (Shirley) Lingard of Bear Valley, Wisconsin; extended family and many friends. Veronica was preceded in death by parents; husband, Lynn Harold Dean; infant son, Gary Lynn Dean; daughter, Lori Ann Dean; and grandson, Craig Ahlers.
