Tom "HT" Bosworth

Dr. Harry Thomas (Tom) Bosworth passed away peacefully on Nov 19, 2018 at Storm Lake, Iowa. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at White Lake United Methodist Church in White Lake, South Dakota. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will take place on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. all at the church. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Tom was the first child of Al and Elvina Bosworth and was born on June 22, 1931 in the Methodist Hospital at Mitchell, SD. He attended rural schools and graduated from Plankinton High School in 1949; enlisting in the Air Force in 1950 for 4 years. Tom married Patricia Atkinson in 1951. They had 3 sons together. After the service he spent a few months working on the farm with his Dad, and for REA Electric. In the fall of 1954 he enrolled at Iowa State University graduating with a degree in veterinary medicine 6 years later. For an additional 2 years he taught at the University, before buying his own veterinary practice in Klemme, Iowa. In 1980 he returned to Mitchell, SD to take over the family farm and also worked at several veterinary jobs in the area. In 1982 he married Lois Albers. They both enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and traveling to Texas for the winters. Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with friends and family in the outdoors. He is survived by his wife Lois (Storm Lake, IA), 3 sons: Ross & Kim (Decorah, IA), Brad (DesMoines, IA), & Brian (Greenville, MS), 6 Stepchildren: Deb & (Mike) Bettin (Odebolt, IA), Denise & (Jim) Davis (Clear Lake, IA), Randy & (Laurie) Albers (Cape Coral, FL), Cheri & (Lonnie) Schmidt (Clear Lake, IA), Mike & (Karla) Albers (Garner, IA), Mark Albers (Fort Worth, TX), 17 Grand Children, 11 Great Grandchildren, 1 sister: Diana & John Henline (Bismarck, ND), brother-in-law: Jim Thedin, (Morris, MN), sister-in-law: Elaine Dahlman (Chamberlain, SD), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Al & Elvina Bosworth, Sisters: Audrey & Ken Sonne and Bonnie Thedin, and brother: Don & Carol Bosworth. The family requests memorials to the White Lake United Methodist Church, the White Lake Senior Citizen’s Center or your local Hospice Agency.
