Teddy L. Collett

Teddy L. Collett, age 81, of Fonda, Iowa formerly of Pomeroy, Iowa died Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Fonda Specialty Care in Fonda. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The Mahaney Funeral Home in Fonda is in charge of the arrangements. Teddy L. Collett was born July 27, 1936 in Wooster, Ohio, the son of Edmond and Fern (Burkhardt) Collett. He attended grade school in Homesville, Ohio, and later attended Wooster High School. In 1954, Teddy joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Teddy was the proud father of two children, Teddy Lee, Jr., and Charles. On June 16, 2007, Teddy was united in marriage to Patricia Spiker Johnson. They made their home south of Fonda, and then later in Pomeroy. Teddy enjoyed wood carving, fishing, hunting, and had a special love for horses. He will be remembered as an easy-going man, and for the love he had for his family. Teddy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Patricia Collett of Pomeroy, Iowa; children: Teddy Lee (Deb) Collett, Jr. of Big Prairie, Ohio; Charles (Heather) Collett of Creston, Ohio; grandchildren: J.D. Collett of Millersburg, Ohio; Samantha (Joey) Weaver of Killbuck, Ohio; Colton Collett of Glenmont, Ohio; Brandon (Brittany) Meade of Orrville, Ohio; great grandchildren: Althea and Savana Collett of Glenmont, Ohio; Lola Belle Weaver of Killbuck, Ohio; Gabe and Gabby Meade of Orrville, Ohio; Destiny (Alex) Collett of Creston, Ohio; sister, Karen May of Medina, Ohio; step children: Susan (David) Conaway of Minong, Wisconsin; Deborah (Mike) Holtapp of Pomeroy, Iowa; Nancy (Tim) Friemuth of Pomeroy, Iowa; Curtis (Stacy) Johnson of Pomeroy, Iowa; step grandchildren: Josh & Tiffany Friemuth of Lytton, Iowa; Tanner Friemuth of Pomeroy, Iowa; Chet and Katlyn Friemuth of Manson, Iowa; Clay Friemuth of Pomeroy, Iowa; Linda Conaway of Minong, Wisconsin; Dane, Brett, and Jenna Johnson of Pomeroy; Tucker, Cash, and Riggin Friemuth of Lytton, Iowa; Betsy Friemuth of Manson, Iowa; several cousins and extended family and friends. Teddy was preceded in death by his parents.
