Ruth M. Miller

Ruth M. Miller, age 86, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Monday, March 10, 2014 at her home in Storm Lake. Ruth Mary Clymer, the daughter of Roy and Josephine (Ellis) Clymer, was born in Lytton, Iowa on May 19, 1927. She lived her youth in the Lytton community and was a graduate of the Lytton High School. Following graduation, she moved with her family to Fonda. On December 19, 1945, Ruth was united in marriage to Marion W. Miller in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Together, they were blessed with one daughter, Patricia. Ruth and Marionâ€™s lifetime was spent in the Storm Lake community. Marion was employed at Otto Furniture and later at the Villager and Lakeshore Restaurants. Ruth was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She also enjoyed working at the Villager. Ruth was a faithful member of the United Church of Christ in Storm Lake. She was active in her community and assisting with the Storm Lake Senior Citizens and visiting local nursing homes. Special hobbies of Ruthâ€™s included reading, bowling, fishing, and playing cards. Ruth also enjoyed going to auctions, camping, getting together with the â€œGolden Girlsâ€ at the condo and her Lakeshore coffees and lunches every Friday and Saturday. Her favorite pastime was socializing and spending time with her family and friends. Ruthâ€™s life will always be loved and cherished by her family which include her daughter and son-in-law: Patti and Dave Lange of Storm Lake, Iowa; two grandchildren: Lesa (Kyle) Eddie and Todd (Barb) Lange, all of Storm Lake, Iowa; her great grandchildren: A.J. Smith (fiancÃ©e, Katelyn Larson), MacKenzie Smith, Jenna (Jordan) Hinkeldey, Chase, Parker, and Kylee Lange, and Lance (Christine) Eddie, and Dallas Eddie; one great great grandchild, Nash Eddie; her sister, Rita Knights of Storm Lake, Iowa, her very best friend ever; other extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Miller; her parents, Roy and Josephine Clymer; five brothers: Bill, Ralph, LeRoy, Cecil, and LeRoy Clymer; one sister, Helen Clymer; grandson, Brad Smith; and a stepbrother, Sam Simpson.
