Roger Alan Tiefenthaler, age 65, of Early, Iowa unexpectedly passed away as a result of an underlying heart condition on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa. Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place Monday, December 27, 2021 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early. Family will greet friends during that time for fellowship at the Sacred Heart Parish Center in Early. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE is in charge of the arrangements. Roger, son of Marvin and Rita (Bengford) Tiefenthaler, was born April 30, 1956 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Roger was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early, Iowa. Along with his nine siblings, he attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from Crestland High School in 1975. He then went on to further his education at Northwest Iowa Community College where he obtained his education in carpentry. He started his career around the Early area, then moved to Arizona where he worked at a cabinet shop. After returning back home to Iowa he and his brother-in-law, Jeff, started Competitive Custom Builders in 1991. He has transformed homes for hundreds of families in the area. He will forever be remembered in the community as one of the best and most dedicated in his field. In 1991, Roger was set up on a blind date with Stacey Rasmussen. They were engaged six months after they met and married a year later, in June of 1993. “Dad” was Roger’s favorite title. He was the happiest and proudest when he was with his children and their families. Adam and wife, Stephanie and their children Colton and Shelby live in Tehachapi, California. Sarah and fiancé, Cassidy and children Oliver and Benji, live in Torrance, California. Laura and husband, Jason and son Asher live in Bakersfield, California. Michael lives in Fountain Valley, California, and David and Anna live in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Next to his faith, family and his work, Roger’s other loves were The New England Patriots and his motorcycles. The only way to get Roger to take the weekend off, was to get him on his Harley. Roger and Stacey went on many trips on his motorcycle. Roger came from a large, closely knit family with nine brothers and sisters, Marcia, Jim (Dianne), Ruth (Jeff), Marla (Paul), Peggy (Brad), Mary (Tom), Carol (Larry), Tim (Angie) and Lisa (John). He so enjoyed the 100's of "In Between" card games with his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was loved and will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends.
