Nicholas Jay Allen

Nicholas Jay Allen, age 39, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in Storm Lake. Funeral services will take place Monday, December 23, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 2-4:00 p.m. with Rosary at 3:30 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Nick was born January 26, 1985 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Richard and Patricia (Rice) Allen. He was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt, Iowa. Nick grew up in Humboldt, then later moved to Storm Lake, Iowa. He attended school and received his certificate of completion at Storm Lake High School in 2004. Since High School, Nick had participated in the Day Hab and work services programs through Imagine the Possibilities (Genesis) and lived in several of their group homes. Nick was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Nick made many friends while working for Jack Links in Laurens, Iowa, Mangold Environmental in Storm Lake, and Sodexo at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. He was a big fan of the Iowa State Cyclones and enjoyed collecting matchbox cars. 60’s music was Nick’s favorite. You could find him playing video games or bowling with his buddies. He always looked forward to Monopoly games and golf outings with his uncle Jim. Nick was a wonderful son with a kind soul. He accepted all his abilities and disabilities with dignity, not complaining too much. He fought a very tough battle this past year with a brave heart and will be missed by so many... Nick is survived by his father: Richard (Diane) Allen of Humboldt, Iowa; Pat Allen of Storm Lake, Iowa; grandparents: Edward Allen of Humboldt, Iowa; Richard and Monica Rice of Storm Lake, Iowa; sisters: Jessica Allen Linn (Bill) of Humboldt, Iowa and their children: Cymon and Rhythum; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; Nick’s friends at Imagine the Possibilities, and his special friend, Joy. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marcele Allen, his brother, Christopher Allen, and his uncle, Andrew Allen.
