Myrna Ann Snyder

Myrna Ann Snyder, age 83, of Schaller, Iowa died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at North Lake Manor in Storm Lake. Funeral Mass will be held Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Schaller. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Early, Iowa. Visitation will take place Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 5-8:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:30 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements. Myrna Ann Schulte was born August 28, 1933 in Breda, Iowa, the only child of Art and Clara (Wess) Schulte. While her father was in the service, Myrna attended grade school in California. She graduated from St. Bernard High School in Breda in 1950. Myrna worked for a hog buyer in high school and following graduation. On September 7, 1957, Myrna was united in marriage to Orville J. Snyder at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breda. After marrying Orville, Myrna became a housewife and raised their growing family. Myrna was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Schaller where she served on the Rosary Society. As a devoted Catholic, many priests and deacons found out she was a talented cook. Myrna cooked meals for numerous Priest Senate meetings that were held in the Schaller and Early communities. She enjoyed meeting clergy members around the area. Myrna volunteered at the Schaller Library and worked for 30 years at general and local elections. She was a talented piano player and also enjoyed crocheting, needlework, reading, entertaining, attending the kids’ activities, dancing, putting together puzzles, cooking, baking, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Myrna liked to play cards and was a member of different card clubs throughout her life. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends. The love Myrna had for her husband, Orville, and her family was undeniable. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, Orville Snyder of Schaller, Iowa; children: Julie (Ron) McClintic of Schaller, Iowa; Janna (Terry) Hintz of Grinnell, Iowa; Russ (Paige) Snyder of Alta, Iowa; Jon (Jen) Snyder of Schaller, Iowa; Ann (Lee) Holz of Lynch, Nebraska; grandchildren: Michael (Jackie) McClintic of Denver, Colorado; Megan (Troy) Matthaidess of Eldridge, Iowa; Amanda and Kyle Hintz of Grinnell, Iowa; Ashtyn, Olivia, and Dalton Holz of Lynch, Nebraska; great grandchildren: Trevor and Emma Matthaidess; Maddie and Vivi McClintic; brothers and sisters-in-law: LuVern (Alice) Snyder, Helen Snyder, Elvira Kitt, Wilmer (Judy) Snyder, Algene (Barb) Snyder, Eugene Snyder; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; and son, James Edward (born in 1967 and passed in 1969); and brothers-in-law: Lenny Snyder and John Kitt.
