Muriel "Mickey" Bell

Muriel "Mickey" Bell, age 91, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Muriel Clarice Mouw was born September 19, 1921 in Sioux Center, Iowa the daughter of Peter B. and Florence (Balkema) Mouw. Growing up, Mickey attended school in Sioux Center where she graduated from Sioux Center High School. Following high school graduation, Mickey attended Central College in Pella, Iowa where she graduated with a Bachelorâ€™s Degree in 1942. In 1943, Mickey was united in marriage to W. Glen Bell in Farragut, Idaho. Together, they were blessed with five children: Cheryl, Roger, Janice, Vickie, and Michael. Mickey was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. She was very active in the church and enjoyed being a member of the United Methodist Women and singing in the choir. Mickey was also a member of the Buena Vista Hospital Auxiliary and the Cosmopolitan Club. Mickey loved sewing, crocheting and baking. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing all types of puzzles. Mickey had a passion for music. Family was very important to Mickey and she enjoyed the time she was able to spend with them. Facebook was a valuable tool that helped Mickey stay in touch with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Cheryl (Ed) Delp of Storm Lake, Iowa; Roger (Lillian) Bell of Florence, Kentucky; Janice (Dennis) Hoyt of Culbertson, Nebraska; Vickie (Jim) Schmitz of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Michael Glen Bell of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren: Deborah Delp (Randy Wright); Lynn (Al) Wiltse; Troy (Kathy) Delp; Kris Bell (Brett Sullivan); Jenny Bell (Val Pakis); Matt (Nadine) Bell; Nathan (Trina) Hoyt; Andre (Rebecca) Hoyt; Jeremy (Danae) Hoyt; Logan Hoyt; Jay (Kelsey) Schmitz; Dallas (Jamie) Schmitz; Anne Schmitz; great grandchildren: Travis, Jace, Bryce Wright; Ashley, Heidi, and Matt Hammen; Taryn and Alyson Delp; Owen and Jonah Sullivan; Sebastian Pakis; Vivian, Liam, and Elaina Bell; Morgan, Brooke, Allison, Alyssa, Joslyn, Maranatha, Maizie, Jeron Hoyt; ; Joel, Stella and Olivia Schmitz; brother, Vernon Mouw of Sioux Center, Iowa; sister, Eva Mouw of Lemars, Iowa; extended family and many friends. Mickey was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Florence Mouw; and her husband in 2006, W. Glen Bell.
