Margaret Miller

Margaret Miller, age 86, of Storm Lake, Iowa died November 2, 2017 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Margaret Rose Livesay was born September 6, 1931 the daughter of Richard and Margaret Livesay. She was confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Newell, Iowa. Growing up, Margaret attended school in Delphos, Iowa where she graduated high school. Following high school graduation, Margaret attended and completed cosmetology school in Des Moines and worked as a beautician managing a shop in Spencer, before working for many years as a stylist in Storm Lake. She treasured the friendships of her many long time clients. On May 10, 1965, Margaret was united in marriage to Donald D. Miller at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with three children: Gordon, Caroline, and Dawn. When at home, she cherished time with her family, hosting holiday meals, and had hobbies that included baking, sewing, knitting, latchhook and embroidering, She enjoyed having her grandchildren visit after school during their younger years. She was an avid follower of her grandchildren’s sporting events. She listened to the radio broadcasts of their games and enjoyed reading the sports section of the local newspaper. Margaret was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and in her later years she greatly appreciated Pastor Lesemann and parishioner's visits. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Gordon (Beverly) Miller of Storm Lake, Iowa; Caroline (Chad) Mason of Storm Lake, Iowa; Dawn Miller of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; grandchildren: Aaron Miller of Ames, Iowa; Dawson Miller of Storm Lake, Iowa; Kyle Richter of Quincy, Illinois; Brenna Richter of Vermillion, South Dakota; Landon Moore of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; great grandchildren: Nolan and Ava Richter of Quincy, Illinois; sister, Georgia (Eardley) Scadden of Winfield, Kansas; extended family and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Miller; parents, Richard and Margaret Livesay; parents-in-law, Emil and Esther Miller; infant granddaughter, Sarah Rose Miller; three brothers; and four sisters. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church, Storm Lake.
