Lloyd Bannister

Lloyd Bannister, age 66, of Storm Lake, Iowa passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Fonda Specialty Care Center in Fonda, Iowa. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Mallard Cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Lloyd was born December 15, 1954, the son of Charles L. and Caroline (McCulla) Bannister in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Lloyd received his education at Storm Lake Public School, Storm Lake, Iowa. Lloyd spent the majority of his years living with his mother until her passing. In 2010, Alice Spooner, his sister, took over his care until he became a resident of a nursing home. In 2019, Lloyd chose to sell his home. He lived a quiet life after he was forced to quit working; he enjoyed a cold PBR and pop. He loved to watch TV Land, work and help others. Lloyd would open his doors to the homeless; he never had an enemy. Family was important to Lloyd and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In his younger years, Lloyd enjoyed playing pool, riding a bike, and playing solitaire. He also liked spending time with his dogs, caring for chickens, collecting the mail, mowing the yard and scooping snow. Lloyd was employed by the National Guard Armory, Sunshine Services and BilMar Foods. Those left to cherish Lloyd’s memories include his brother, David (Shanda) Bannister of Storm Lake, Iowa; sisters, Charlene (Jeff) Ulrich, Teresa (Mike) Noe, Alice (Robert) Spooner and Melissa Bannister; nieces and nephews, Whitney Gibbins, Justin Howard, Joshua Peters, Tara Peters, Autumn Ulrich, Shanda Huebner, Jessica Thompson, Brandi Miller, Ricky Handy, Charlie Spooner, Jonathon Spooner and Miranda Winkleman and many other great nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Caroline Bannister; grandparents, Lloyd and Blanch Bannister and Lawrence and Anna McCulla and his sister, Jane Bannister.
