Linda L. Bethune

Linda L. Bethune, age 70, of Storm Lake, Iowa died February 2, 2014 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Linda Lee Imhoff was born December 11, 1943 in Fort Dodge, Iowa the daughter of Frances Boyd and Martha Irene (Trickel) Imhoff. As an infant, she was baptized and later she was confirmed at the Methodist Church in Rolfe, Iowa in 1952. Growing up, she attended school in Palmer, Iowa where she graduated from Palmer High School in 1961. While in high school, Linda enjoyed participating in sporting events, especially basketball where she was a standout. On July 15, 1965 Linda was united in marriage to Robert G. Bethune in Pocahontas, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with four children: Londa, Travis, Kyle, and Cory. Linda was a member of Mothers of Twins and the Moose Lodge. She was the proud owner and operator of Grandmaâ€™s Pretties. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, and collecting â€œSnowbuddies.â€ One could often find Linda watching a game of basketball on television or sewing and knitting. Linda enjoyed wintering in Arizona with her sister as often as possible. Family was very important to Linda, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Lona (David) Stille of Storm Lake, Iowa; Travis (Lisa) Bethune of Newell, Iowa; Kyle (Melanie) Bethune of Alta, Iowa; grandchildren: Jared (Sary) Stille; Matt (Kristin) Stille; Heath (Brittany) Stille; Amanda (Matt) Fisher; Mark Frederick; Travis (Tina) Frederick; Chase Wilson; Meagan Hammer; Jasmine Bethune; Emma Mills; great grandchildren: Jaci, Samantha, Charlie, and Andrew Stille; Ali Stille; Hadleigh Stille; Madison Bobzien; Tay and Jenna Fisher; brother, Gary (Betty) Imhoff of Lohrville, Iowa; sisters: Karen (Robert) Speich of Algona, Iowa; Patricia (Denny) Hovinga of Laurens, Iowa; brother-in-law, Richard Groff of Arizona; sister-in-law, Nancy Imhoff of Odebolt, Iowa; brother-in-law, Merle (Sandi) Bethune of York, Nebraska; sisters-in-law: Alice (Tom) Townsend of Grand Island, Nebraska; Cindy Bethune of Grand Island, Nebraska; special friends: Dorothy Moulder; Phyllis Forsmark; Merlyn (Bernice) Stern; nieces; nephews; cousins; extended family, friends and many honorary grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bethune; son, Cory Bethune; grandchildren: Tara and Caleb Stille; sister, Peggy Jo Groff; brother, Buzz Imhoff; and brothers-in-law: Roy Bethune and Don Bethune.
