LaVonne Robb

LaVonne E. Robb, age 95, of Storm Lake, Iowa died July 7, 2025 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community where she was a resident for five years. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. Graveside services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. in BV Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. LaVonne Emogene (Gutel) Robb was born October 27, 1929 in Storm Lake, the daughter of Harry and Hattie (Danielson) Gutel. She was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake where she remained a lifelong member. LaVonne attended school in Storm Lake, graduating in 1947. She went on to attend Buena Vista University where she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. On July 25, 1948, LaVonne was united in marriage to M. Wayne Robb in Storm Lake, Iowa. They were blessed with three children: Suzanne, Steven, and Sarita. Wayne and LaVonne were married for 70 beautiful years until his passing on December 7, 2018. LaVonne enjoyed her time volunteering for the Buena Vista Hospital Auxiliary and Gift Shop. She also volunteered at the Buena Vista Historical Society Museum in Storm Lake. LaVonne enjoyed playing cards, Canasta, and Scrabble. You could find her doing needle point, embroidery, latch hook, and trying new recipes. She loved reading books and newspapers. In her younger years, LaVonne traveled to many states. She would occasionally garden and watch television shows. More than anything, LaVonne enjoyed the time spent with her family. She especially treasured getting together for birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and spending the fourth of July in Okoboji or Storm Lake. LaVonne will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. LaVonne is survived by her children: Steve (Clara) Robb of West Des Moines, Iowa; Sarita Henricksen of Earlham, Iowa; grandchildren: Michelle Simmons; Nathan Ruden; Nikki Danielsen; Seth (Branae) Robb; Mark (Brooke) Robb; Adam Mastrodomenico; Montana Henricksen; Nevada Henricksen; ten great-grandchildren; Danielson and Gutel cousins from the Storm Lake, Alta, and Albert City areas; and wonderful friends and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Hattie Gutel; beloved husband: Wayne Robb; daughter: Suzanne Ruden; aunt and uncle: Mel and Neva Poole; parents-in-law: Floyed and Alice Robb; sister-in-law: Maxine Robb; brother-in-law: Donald Robb; step sisters-in-law: Tootie Hansen; Doris Jones; Helen Renshaw; best friends: Joleen Bargloff and Mary Veehoff.
