Kipp North

Kipp North, age 57, of Varina, Iowa died on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at UnityPoint St. Luke's in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. To watch the recording of the service, please visit Kipp's tribute wall. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. Masks and social distancing are required for all guests in attendance at the services. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Kipp Grant North, the son of Robert Sr. and Kay (Overton) North, was born on May 29, 1963 in Storm Lake, Iowa. As an infant, Kipp was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Growing up in Lakeside he attended kindergarten at Hayes school. He attended grade school and high school in Storm Lake. He graduated high school in 1981. On May 30, 1992, Kipp was united in marriage to Julie Fitchett on his parents deck in Newell, Iowa. The couple was blessed with one son, Tyler Robert Floyd North. Some of his hobbies included hunting with his dad when he was younger, bowling, and fishing with Pop. He was also active in car clubs including the Rollin Relics and Old Iron Company while driving his own car, a 1934 Chevy coupe that he and his father built together. He also enjoyed animals, having many pets over the years. Camping at Coppers with John and the family and extended family. Another hobby was music, if he wasn't listening to music at home, he was playing roadie with Wild Childhood. His favorite band with his good friends and brothers Dennis, Rod, Brian and Paul, including fellow roadies Franz and Pat. Also being involved with the Rock & Remember benefit later on. Halloween was a special favorite with Kipp and the family, dressing in costumes for contests in the area and being involved in the Marathon haunted house for many years. One of his favorite hobbies was spending time with Tyler. He spent a lot of time going to baseball and basketball games to watch his son play and learning with Tyler how to skateboard. A very special event was the birth of his first grandson, Gryffin Roy Grant North on December 14, 2020. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Julie North of Varina, Iowa; son, Tyler (Hiedi) North of Fonda, Iowa; father, Robert North Sr. of Newell, brother, Robert (Diana) North Jr. of Knoke, Iowa; sister, Connie (David) Luhman of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; infant grandson, Gryffin North of Fonda, Iowa; sistersin-law: Jo Fitchett of Varina, Iowa; Debra Davis (special friend Randy Nielsen) of Newell, Iowa; Susan (Dennis) Trimpe of Newell, Iowa; brother-in-law, Dennis Fitchett of Pocahontas, Iowa; uncle, Harold North of Storm Lake, Iowa; aunt and uncle Ranae and Robert Knapton of Alta, Iowa; many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends. Pets; Birdie, Cheech, Neville, Draco, Bellatrix, Odin, Lilith and Mike. Kipp was preceded in death by his mother, Kay North; parents-in-law, Floyd and Shirley Fitchett; grandparents, Harley and Wynona Overton; Evelyn and Thurman North; aunt, Bettie North; and cousin, Steven North.
