Jerry Lewis Brewster

Jerry L. Brewster, age 68, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Friday, June 3, 2016 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Jerome Lewis “Jerry” Brewster was born July 28, 1947 in Sheldon, Iowa, the son of Donald and Leorna (Milenberg) Brewster. He was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith in Sheldon. In 1965, Jerry graduated from Sheldon High School. After high school, Jerry joined the United States Navy. He served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on June 25, 1968. Jerry was a loving father to two daughters, Pennie and Melodie. In his earlier years, Jerry worked for Illinois Central Railroad as a conductor. He then began working at Tyson Foods in Storm Lake, retiring in 2012. Jerry loved movies, collecting thousands throughout his lifetime. He also collected Star Wars and Disney figurines. Jerry loved Christmas time and every year he would spend days baking and decorating Christmas cookies that he would give away to just about everyone he knew. Many people would say they were the best cookies they have ever had. Most of all, Jerry cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters: Pennie (Matt) Kragel of Storm Lake, Iowa; Melodie Brewster of Cherokee, Iowa; grandchildren: Alexa Brewster of Cherokee, Iowa; Kyra and Jacob Kragel of Storm Lake, Iowa; great grandson, Ryden Monroe of Cherokee, Iowa; brothers: Robert (Lynette) Brewster of Omaha, Nebraska; Harold Brewster of Sioux City, Iowa; Roger (Mary Jane) Brewster of St. Cloud, Minnesota; Timothy (Connie) Brewster of Sheldon, Iowa; Tedd Brewster of Windom, Minnesota; Greg (Nancy) Brewster of Sheldon, Iowa; Kevin (Barb) Brewster of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; sister, Mary Ann Patterson of Irving, Texas; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: David (Pat) Brewster and Paul Brewster.
