Jeannette Putney

Jeannette Putney, age 73, of Storm Lake, Iowa and formerly of Newell, Iowa, died Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center in Newell. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Newell. Inurnment will be in the Newell Cemetery at a later date. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell is in charge of the arrangements. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 25th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell, where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00. Jeanette Carolyn John was born January 10, 1936 in Jefferson, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Thelma (Wilson) John. She graduated from Osceola High School in Osceola, Iowa with the Class of 1953. On December 17, 1955, Jeannette was united in marriage to Claudius Ray Putney. The couple was blessed with five children: Andrea, Barton, Barry, Amy and Sara. Jeannette will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, treasured grandmother, caring sister and aunt, and a valued friend to many. May God bless her memory. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Claudius Ray Putney of Storm Lake; her daughter, Andrea (David) Taylor of Newell; her son, Barton Putney of Newell; her son, Barry (Doreen) Putney of Jacksonville, North Carolina; her daughter, Amy (Gene) Frehse of Humboldt, Iowa; her daughter, Sara (Benny) Klassen of Seminole Texas; her grandchildren: Jeremy (Tracy) Taylor of Cherokee, Iowa; Chad (Jenn) Taylor of Newell; Michelle (Chad) Wilson of Newell; Sarah (Thomas) Taylor-Ptak of Cherokee; Adam (Nikki) Taylor of Spencer, Iowa; Heather (Greg) Pray of Norfolk, Virginia; Nick Putney of Steelton, Pennsylvania; Brittany Frehse of Wright City, Missouri; Samantha Frehse of Humboldt, Iowa; Chris Frehse of Humboldt; Heidi Klassen, David Klassen and Shelby Klassen, all of Seminole, Texas; Kristofer Imhoff and Hannah Imhoff, both of Jacksonville, North Carolina; 17 great-grandchildren; her brothers: David (Carol) John of Jefferson, Iowa and Jerry (Linda) John of Des Moines, Iowa; her sister, Donna (Duane) Hageman of Ithaca, Nebraska; extended family and many friends. Jeannette was preceded in death by her father, Donald John; her mother, Thelma John; and her grandson, Nathan Taylor.
