Janet J. Glasgow

Janet Jean Glasgow, 85, of Storm Lake, IA passed away in her home surrounded by family, on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will take place on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Masks and social distancing are required for guests in attendance. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Born on September 26, 1935 in Plover, IA, she was the daughter of William and Elnora Hendricks. On October 5, 1957 she married Clifford John Glasgow. Janet was a homemaker who took pride in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the companionship of others and brought joy to whomever she was around. Her charismatic energy made her an unforgettable socialite. Janet had a love for sports and enthusiastically cheered on the Hawkeyes and Cyclones. If she wasn’t watching sports you could find her working on a puzzle or playing Yahtzee. Her life was a living example of her strong Christian faith and she was a dedicated member of St. John Lutheran Church. Throughout her time in Storm Lake, she always tried to give back to the community. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years, as well as Ladies Aid, and various other church and community events. Surviving Janet are her five children: Robert (Julene), Michael (Angela), Janelle Riche (Rod), Debbie Brown, and Mark; ten grandchildren, Sarah, Sydney and Sadie Glasgow, Shonda Geissinger, Holly Glasgow, April Brown, Nicole and Shenoa Glasgow, and Jack and Samuel Glasgow; three great grandchildren; her brother Kermit (Shirley) Hendricks; her sister Mona (Randy) Mason; and her brother-in-law Thomas Glasgow. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Glasgow, her parents William and Elnora Hendricks; sisters, Sherlyn Hendricks Schnetter, Shirley Johnson, her brother Danny Hendricks, and infant twin sisters.
