Frances Lenhart

Frances Jane Lenhart, age 84, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake. Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place Friday, October 28, 2022 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Frances Jane Hirschman was born September 6, 1938 in Hartington, Nebraska the daughter of Ivo and Irene (Davies) Hirschman. As an infant, Frances was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hartington. She later confirmed her Christian faith at the same church. Growing up, Frances attended school at Trinity High where she graduated in 1956. Following high school graduation, Frances continued her education at St. Joseph Nursing School. On December 27, 1960, Frances was united in marriage to Robert Lenhart in Harrington, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with six children: Kelly, Shane, Ned, Ted, Theresa, and Sarah. Franny was very active throughout St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she served on the guild, volunteered at S.O.S. and throughout other areas of the parish. Franny was strong in her Catholic faith and she attended daily Mass and weekly adoration. Franny was a volunteer throughout the Storm Lake community where she served Meals on Wheels and on the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Scholarship fund committee. In her free time, Franny enjoyed gardening, reading and doing puzzles. She loved cooking and baking; especially ice cream buckets full of monster cookies. Above all, family was very important to Franny. She treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending their activities. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Kelly (Mike) Lenhart of Helena, Missouri; Shane (Nancy) Lenhart of Storm Lake, Iowa; Ned (Debbie) Lenhart of Storm Lake, Iowa; Ted (Kris) Lenhart of Osage Beach, Missouri; Theresa (Ali) Touray of Omaha, Nebraska; Sarah (Steve) Wiederkehr of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren: Anyssa (Curtis) Wells of Gardner, Kansas; Nathan (Ellie) Lenhart of Storm Lake, Iowa; Alan (Melinda) Lenhart of Ostrander, Minnesota; Luke (Alexa) Lenhart of Storm Lake, Iowa; Jacob Lenhart of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Dane (Olivia) Lenhart of Storm Lake, Iowa; Riley Lenhart of Kansas City, Missouri; Trisha Lenhart of Gillette, Wyoming; Katie Lenhart of Storm Lake, Iowa; Lizzie Lenhart of Storm Lake, Iowa; Mary Wiederkehr of St. Louis, Missouri; Jordan Wiederkehr of St. Louis, Missouri; Lilianna Wiederkehr of St. Louis, Missouri; great grandchildren: Lainey Lenhart, Lux Lenhart, Piper Wells, Emery Lenhart, and Vivian Lenhart; brother, Gene Hirschman; brother-in-law, George Jensen; sister-in-law, Joyce (Frank) Sudduth; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Ivo and Irene Hirschman; husband, Robert Lenhart; brothers, Richard (Darlene) Hirschman; David Hirschman; sister, Donna Mae Jensen; JoAnn (Kenny) Goeden; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Hirschman.
