Douglas F. Domayer

Douglas F. Domayer, age 75, of Lakeside, Iowa died Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his home in Lakeside. Memorial services will take place Monday, August 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 3-5:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements. Douglas Frank Domayer was born December 9, 1946 in Manning, Iowa the son of Julius and Florence (Farrell) Domayer. As an infant, Doug was baptized and later confirmed. Growing up, Doug attended school in Storm Lake where he graduated from Storm Lake St. Mary’s High School in 1965. Following high school graduation, Doug enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 26, 1965 where he proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged on March 2, 1969. Doug was blessed with two children: Tami and Cory. On March 18, 2002, Doug was united in marriage to Peggy Ervin in Las Vegas, Nevada and welcomed in four more children: Dennis, Carrie, Katie and John. Doug was a member of the Alta Golf and Country Club where he enjoyed playing many rounds of golf. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling to Omaha and Chicago with his wife, Peg. Gambling at the casino or on his Kindle was a favorite pastime. Doug enjoyed watching sporting events, especially golf or football. Doug was known for many home improvement projects around the house and just when he would complete one, there was another one waiting to start. He truly loved Peg’s honey-do lists, just as much as she loved creating them. Family was important to Doug, and he treasured spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Peg Domayer of Lakeside, Iowa; children: Tami Domayer of Keystone Heights, Florida; Cory (Shannon) Domayer of Ormond Beach, Florida; Dennis Crampton (Jessica Wendel) of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; Carrie (Jay) Riesberg of Carroll, Iowa; Katie (Scott) Meyer of Alta, Iowa; John (Dora) Crampton of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandchildren: Courtni (Keith) Collins; Daniel (Kristen) Theisen; Samuel (Amanda) Theisen; Chandler, Madisen and Peyton Domayer; Meggan, Collin, and Hannah Crampton; Kiley, Justin and Levi Riesberg; Brendan Crampton; Emily and Cailey Meyer; Liam and Carmen Crampton; great grandchildren: Parker, Brooklynn, Jaxson, Hayden, Rhett and Krew; brother, Dennis (Rose) Domayer of Richmond, Virginia; sister, Patricia (Milo) Hustedt of Storm Lake, Iowa; extended family and many friends. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Florence Domayer; brother, Gary “Skip” Domayer; and sister, Wanda del Rosario.
