Dorathea Kruse

Dorathea Kruse, age 101, of Storm Lake, Iowa died October 24, 2011 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake. Dorathea was born March 18, 1910 at her home in Grant Township in rural Storm Lake the daughter of Fred H. and Ida (Hartje) Buchholz. On April 3, 1910, Dora was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake where she was later confirmed on April 13, 1924. On June 6, 1929, Dora was united in marriage to August Kruse at Grant Township. Together, they were blessed with four children: Donald, Darlene, Wayne, and Corwin. Dora enjoyed quilting and crocheting, especially The Lordâ€™s Prayer. She crocheted around 620 last names for people. Dora loved playing cards. She treasured her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ida Buchholz; husband, August Kruse; sister, Paula Madison; brothers: Arthur, Raymond, and Walter Buchholz; granddaughter-in-law, Teresa Kruse; two great great grandchildren: Hannah and Aiden.
