Dianne Jean Leonard

Dianne Leonard, age 57, of Storm Lake, Iowa died December 13, 2011 at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Dianne Jean Demers was born August 26, 1954 in Storm Lake, Iowa the daughter of Robert and Marilyn (Berry) Demers. Growing up, she attended St. Maryâ€™s Catholic school where she graduated from St. Maryâ€™s High School in 1972. Following high school graduation, she attended Iowa Central Community College where she graduated in 1973. On July 20, 1974 Dianne was united in marriage to David â€œWhiteyâ€ Leonard at the St. Maryâ€™s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer and Stephanie. Dianne had worked for MidAmerican Energy for over 30 years serving as an office and meter reader supervisor. Dianne was a lifelong member of the St. Maryâ€™s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and held the office of secretary. Dianne enjoyed golfing, gambling, cards and shopping. In her spare time, she had a passion for photography. Dianne loved spending time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, David â€œWhiteyâ€ Leonard of Storm Lake, Iowa; daughters, Jennifer Hyson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Stephanie Leonard of Goodyear, Arizona; mother, Marilyn Demers of Storm Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Dominick Hyson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Brandon Leonard of Goodyear, Arizona; Jordan Orduno of Goodyear, Arizona; brothers, Steve Demers of Lincoln, Nebraska; Ron (Katie) Demers of Sioux City, Iowa; sisters: Mary (Lenard) Schmitt of Early, Iowa; Sue (Marion) Gibbins of Storm Lake, Iowa; Carol Demers of Storm Lake, Iowa; Joanne (Robert) Sippel of Lombard, Illinois; mother-in-law, Ruth Miller of Storm Lake, Iowa; brothers-in-law: Dennis (Sandy) Leonard of Jetersville, Virginia; Gary (Audrey) Leonard of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mark (Kristy) Miller of Storm Lake, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Gloria (Les) Preece of Midland, Texas; Michelle (Lew) Miller of Midland, Texas; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Dianne was preceded in death by her father, Robert â€œBobâ€ Demers; father-in-law, Verlyn Miller; grandparents: Henry and Winifred Demers, Mike and Ruth Berry.
