Delores June Holliday, age 89, of Storm Lake, Iowa was called to her heavenly home on April 2, 2021. Funeral services will take place Monday, April 5, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Delores June Dallman was born on August 5, 1931 at the Swallum Hospital in Storm Lake, Iowa to Gustav and Lydia (Friedrich) Dallman. She was baptized on August 30, 1931 and confirmed on June 16, 1946 at St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Delores attended North School and moved into the brand new building in 1940 and was in the fourth grade class. She attended junior high school and then high school and graduated with the class of 1949. After high school, she was a bookkeeper for Wallen’s Variety Store and then a salesclerk in Colorado Springs and worked at Buena Vista Stationery in Storm Lake for 26 years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. On January 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to Jerry Holliday in Storm Lake. To this union three children were born: Dennis, Susan and Patricia. She enjoyed camping and hiking, especially in the Colorado Mountains and Branson, Missouri for a month each year, seeing old friends and enjoying all the wonderful shows and Silver Dollar City. She loved having Jerry fish for the fresh trout and then having them for dinner. She also liked to bake. Delores treasured her family and the time she spent with them. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Among those left to cherish her memory are her son; Dennis (Helen) Holliday of Storm Lake, Iowa; two daughters: Susan (Loren) Ripke of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; and Patricia (Mike) Jones of Storm Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Jeffrey (Elysia) Jones of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Randy (Janet) Jones of Elkmont, Alabama, Melissa (Eduardo) Hernandez of Omaha, Nebraska, Bryan (Katie) Ripke of Lisbon, Iowa, Michael (Jill) Ripke of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Jeremy (Lorena) Holliday of Lorton, Virginia, Kristi (Chad) Kerkenbush of Dubuque, Iowa, Emily Holliday of Storm Lake, Sarah (Dan) Petrak of Grimes, Iowa and Mark (Jillian) Mueller of Waukon; sister, Evelyn Meyer of Alta, Iowa; 21 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death include her beloved husband of 69 years, Jerry Holliday; her parents, Gus and Lydia Dallman; in-laws, Leo and Marge Holliday; brothers-in-law: William Meyer and Steve Harris; and sister-in-law, Rozella Harris.
