Debra A. Wischmeyer

Debra Wischmeyer, age 57, of Webb, Iowa died March 11, 2015 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids. Visitation will take place Friday, March 13, 2015 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Debra Ann Kleaveland was born March 26, 1957 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Rodney and Lydia Kleaveland. Deb grew up in the Sioux Rapids community, graduating from Sioux Rapids High School in 1975. She then went on to continue her education at Iowa State University and Western Iowa Tech to obtain her nursing degree. She later went to Iowa Lakes Community College. On August 16, 1980, Deb was united in marriage to Jim Wischmeyer in Sioux Rapids. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Beth and Katie. Deb was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, and loved Sunday afternoons spent with friends cheering on the team. She enjoyed spending time outside golfing with her husband, Jim, and also canoeing in her younger days. Deb loved to cook and to try new dishes, and especially enjoyed her Saturdays out with her daughters. Most of all, Deb loved being a mother and grandmother, and cherished her time with both her daughters and her grandson. Deb's primary job in the last several years was the main babysitter of her grandson, Lukas. She loved watching him get off the bus and enjoyed him coming in for snacks, and had long talks with him about his day at school and what he learned. Lukas was very special to her. She will be remembered as loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on always. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jim Wischmeyer of Webb, Iowa; children: Beth Wischmeyer of Webb, Iowa (boyfriend, Dan Fraser of Sioux Falls, South Dakota); Katie Wischmeyer (fiancé, Josh Chindlund) of Rembrandt, Iowa; father and stepmother, Rod and LaVonne Kleaveland of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; grandson, Lukas Chindlund of Rembrandt, Iowa; brother, David (Kathy) Kleaveland of Pierre, South Dakota; dog, Tootsie; extended family and many friends. Deb was preceded in death by her mother, Lydia; and parents-in-law, Dale and Ruth Wischmeyer.
