David Hadden

David G. Hadden, age 76, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 3-5:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. David was born on May 5, 1940 in Alta, IA to Edward and Edna Schroeder, who owned and operated the local pharmacy. Dave’s grandfather, DE Hadden, conducted numerous early weather experiments that provided meteorologists with early foundational weather data. Dave graduated from Alta High School in 1958 and received an accounting certificate from the Commercial Extension Business School in Omaha, NE. He then began his career at the Commercial Trust and Savings Bank on May 24, 1959 where he would work his entire career until 2002. Dave later took courses from Iowa State University in Agriculture credit and attended the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, WI. Dave served as president of the Siouxland Chapter of Bank Administration Institute, which excels at furthering education in banking. Dave treasured the relationships he had with his customers, many of whom he felt became family. He loved the personalized interactions and the investment in so many wonderful people and farmers throughout the years. On October 21, 1961 Dave married Jean Dick in Early, IA where they welcomed four children, Scott, Terri, Michael, and Lori. Dave beamed with pride when he talked about his children and loved sharing stories about them. He was very eager to tell others of how proud he was of his children and grandchildren. Dave often reminisced about family vacations and the special memories he had surrounded with family. Dave was a past member of the Jaycees and Rotary Club and enjoyed playing golf, watching Iowa Hawkeye sports, spending time with his friends and numerous family activities. Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Jean; son Scott and his wife Renee from Victoria, MN; Terri and her husband Bruce from Spencer, IA; Lori and her husband Jeff from Spencer, IA; and Michael from Indianola, IA; a sister Connie (Hadden) Hoch and her husband Bob from Storm Lake; 5 grandchildren: Jaci, Kady, Brody, Ashley, and Amanda. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Alexandria in 2011; sister Doreen Friedrichsen in 2011 and husband Loren in 2008, niece Louise Dahleen in 2001; and nephew Lynn Friedrichsen in 2008.
