Darcy M. Reese

Darcy Reese, age 52, of Fort Dodge, Iowa and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa passed on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. A 28 day battle with Covid ended and left her with peace. Memorial Services will take place Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Darcy Marie Reese was born November 4, 1968 to Vernon and Jacquelyn (Austin) Peters in Sac City, Iowa. She was a very involved and active kid who was always into something. 18 months later, she welcomed a little sister. Darcy was dedicated as a child at the First Christian Church in Sac City, Iowa. Darcy grew up attending Sac City Community Schools until 1979 where they moved to Alta, Iowa. Darcy graduated from Alta Community Schools in 1988. Darcy went on to Iowa Central Community College but left before she could graduate to take care of her children and sick Father. She was enrolled in the Nursing Program with goals to follow her mom’s footsteps. Darcy married her high school sweetheart, Cory Reese in November of 2008 in Storm Lake, Iowa. She enjoyed many things which included: camping with friends and family, cooking and baking enough for an army, going overboard on holidays, traveling, mowing the lawn, and spending time with her grandson. She simply enjoyed life and anytime she could get with family was all she needed. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband: Corey Reese of Fort Dodge, Iowa; children: Kendra (Derek) Conklin of Storm Lake, Iowa; Kaylysa Ladner of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Kody Ladner of Fort Dodge, Iowa; brother: Shane Schlicht of Harker Heighets, Texas; sister: Angie (Brandon Melby) Dirks of Alta, Iowa; grandchildren: Elijah Reese; Lilian Conklin; mother: Jacquelyn Peters of Storm Lake, Iowa; as well as several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; extended family and friends. Darcy is preceded in death by her father, Vernon Peters; uncles: Sonny Peters; Larry Austin; Kenny Peters; grandparents: Irene and Evertt Austin; Sue and Essie Peters; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
