Dr. Christina E. Heitman

Dr. Christina E. (Schnoebelen) Heitman, age 50, of Storm Lake, Iowa died June 16, 2025 surrounded by her family in her home in Storm Lake. Funeral Mass will take place Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake with refreshments to follow. Burial will be held Saturday, June 21 at 1:30 p.m. in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Riverside, Iowa. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 4-7:00 p.m. at the CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, memorials will go towards Christy's final expenses. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Christy was born March 11, 1975 to Richard and Janet (Eckrich) Schnoebelen in Burlington, Iowa. She was raised in Burlington, Iowa where she attended school. Christy graduated from Burlington High School in 1993. She went on to attend the University of Iowa. In February of 1999, Christy earned her Bachelor’s Degree simultaneously with her Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While in college, she met the love of her life, Dan Heitman. On August 29, 1998, Christy and Dan were united in marriage. Being “Mom” was her greatest love and she was blessed with three children: Emily, Jacob, and John. Christy touched many lives through her work as a chiropractor. In December of 1998, she and Dan opened Atlas Chiropractic in Storm Lake, Iowa. They also taught a marriage preparation class together. In her free time, Christy loved the outdoors. She looked forward to trips with her friend, Courtney. These trips oftentimes included kayaking, ziplining, and stopping at breweries. She also loved visiting Nashville, Tennessee with a highlight being her last trip for her 50th birthday. More than anything, Christy loved time with her family and friends, especially boating and camping. Left to cherish Christy’s memory include her beloved husband, Dr. Daniel Heitman; parents: Richard and Janet Schnoebelen of Burlington, Iowa; children: Emily (Zach) Roling; Jacob Heitman; John Heitman; grandson: Cameron Roling; sister: Tamera (Brad) Stewart of Riverside, Iowa; nephews: Bennett (Anna) Stewart; Owen (Alyssa) Stewart, great nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.
