Charlotte Sundberg

Charlotte Sundberg, age 87, of Alta, Iowa died unexpectedly on March 2, 2026 in Florida. Funeral services will take place Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of New Beginnings (Assembly of God) in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Church of New Beginnings 1501 West Milwaukee Ave. Storm Lake, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Charlotte Nixon was born June 15, 1938 to Rollie and Doris Nixon in Storm Lake, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed her faith. Most recently, Charlotte was a member of the Church of New Beginnings (Assembly of God) in Storm Lake. On April 9, 1954, Charlotte was united in marriage to Ronald Dale Sundberg in Storm Lake. To this union, four children were born: Kathy, John, Linda, and Lisa. Charlotte worked many jobs, including Foodland in Alta and JC Penney in Storm Lake. In her free time, Charlotte loved playing cards and board games, and she belonged to various card clubs. Traveling brought her great joy, with Hawaii being one of her most memorable vacations. More than anything, Charlotte treasured time with her family. She especially cherished moments spent snuggling with her grandbabies. Charlotte is survived by her children: Kathy (Jerry) Stone of Alta, Iowa; John (Annette) Sundberg of Fairbanks, Alaska; Linda Pickett of Alta, Iowa; Lisa (Doug) Boyle of Knox, Indiana; brothers: Rollie Nixon of Lakeland, Florida; Jerry (Mary) Nixon of Iowa City, Iowa; sisters: Sharon (Dale) McClain of Geneseo, Illinois; Carole Hartley of Milan, Illinois; grandchildren: Nikki (Mike) Jones; Natalie (Jeremy) Jensen; Christin Dana; Jeremy (Jocelyn) Sundberg; Alesia (Billy) Stacy; Amber (Eric) Schilling; Angel (Keanu) MacPhee; Robert Pickett; Michelle (Rich) O’Brien; Chris (Melissa) Stone; Steven (Rivian) Stone; Phillip (Megan) Hamand; Nick Hamand; Emily (Nick) Peterson; Matthew Boyle; Joseph (Kassidy) Boyle; Nathan Boyle; great grandchildren: Chris Horn; Nick Hill; Alex Jones; Kylee Petersen; Kayden Petersen; Taylor Petersen; Elliott O’Brien; Brody Sundberg; Jackson Sundberg; Caleigh Sundberg; Asher Dana; Banyan Dana; Caia Dana; Jayden Stacy; Amelia (Brantley) Criswell; Bryson Schilling; Mason Schilling; Tyson Schilling; Olivia Schilling; Colt MacPhee; Hunter MacPhee; Luci Hamand; Alexi Elder; Aurora Hamand; Carson Peterson; Colton Peterson; Cayden Peterson; great-great children: Sophia Criswell; Avery Criswell; sister-in-law: Sandy (Randy) Hogrefe; extended family and friends.
