Carson Daniel Chase

Carson D. Chase, age 11, of Fonda, Iowa passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Catholic Cemetery in Fonda. Visitation will take place Friday, May 22, 2015 from 2-8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda. Friends and family are invited to wear their "Carson Strong", Iowa Hawkeye, or Newell-Fonda shirts to both the visitation and the funeral. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Carson's name at United Bank of Iowa in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Carson Daniel Chase was born September 13, 2003 in Lake City, Iowa, the son of Marty and Tawnya (Peter) Chase. On January 29, 2005, Carson was baptized at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda. He received his First Holy Communion on May 5, 2012. He attended school at Newell-Fonda, where he was currently in the fifth grade. Carson enjoyed school, and was a TAG student, Talented and Gifted. He participated in the youth football and baseball programs at Newell-Fonda. Carson was also a member of Cub Scouts and the Catholic Youth Organization. Carson had a passion for sports. He loved being able to participate in Newell-Fonda sporting events and was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Additionally, Netflix was also a favorite pastime of Carson’s as well as, building Legos. He recently received a silky little boxer puppy that he had always dreamed of having named, Chewbacca. Carson was granted a Make-A-Wish Foundation in hopes of receiving a camper so his family would be able to spend time camping together. His wish was granted and he thoroughly made the most out of the opportunities spent camping with his family. He was very intelligent when discussing medical terminology and was often referred to as “Dr. Chase” by medical personal. Carson had high hopes of becoming a doctor one day and he would have made a wonderful doctor. Carson was a fun, loving little boy who could light up a room with his contagious smile. In his short time here on earth, he brought much love and laughter to many and he will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Marty and Tawnya (Peter) Chase of Fonda, Iowa; siblings: AJ Chase and Chelsea Peter (fiancé, Jordan Brown) of Fonda, Iowa; grandparents: Doug and Veronica Chase; John and Laurie Peter; great grandpa, Wally Johnson; aunts and uncles: Rick and Mary Krull, Margaret Tewes, Ed and Rachel Chase, Julie Miller and Pat Harrington, Doug and Mary Chase, Tony and Katie Strauss, Theresa Gallo, Tina Peter and Randy Andreasen, Jamie and Abe Clark; numerous cousins; extended family; many classmates and friends. Carson was preceded in death by his great grandparents; uncles, Tony Peter and Daniel Chase; and cousin, Paige Gallo.
