Betty Marie Frank

Betty M. Frank, age 78, of Schaller, Iowa died on July 7, 2013 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa. Betty Marie Barlow was born April 14, 1935 in Storm Lake, Iowa the daughter of Bill and Anna (Merten) Barlow. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller where she remained an active member. Growing up, Betty attended school in Schaller where she graduated from Schaller High School in 1952. On January 18, 1953 Betty was united in marriage to Richard Frank at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller. Together, they were blessed with four children: Rick, Roger, Larry, and Linda. Betty was a member of the Eden Neighborhood Coffee Group and helped Dick with 4H. She worked at Joyceâ€™s Greenery which supported her hobby of gardening, growing flowers, and raising pumpkins. Betty treasured her family and enjoyed babysitting for many grandchildren. Betty loved family gatherings, especially at Christmas time when Santa Claus (Charlie) came visiting for over 35 years, and all the fun times with â€œthe Gangâ€, Jennetts, Lenzâ€™s, Reisâ€™ and Elkins. Betty enjoyed going road farming with Dick usually ending up at one of the gangâ€™s houses. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dick Frank of Schaller, Iowa; children: Rick (Rona) Paullina, Iowa; Roger Frank of Ida Grove, Iowa; Larry Frank of Schaller, Iowa; Linda (Russell) Hinkeldey of Galva, Iowa; grandchildren: Stacy Ackermann, Becky (Dan Horkey) Streiff, Camille (Kent) De Zeeuw, Ross Frank (Danielle Crannell), Justin (Angela) Frank, Emily (Tyler) Leinbaugh, Kay Lynn (Austin) Hildebrand, Laura (Matt) Page, Nathan Frank (Nichole McAllister), Jared and Christian Hinkeldey, and; great grandchildren:, Ethan, Raelee , Jaxson, Lillian, Kaydee, Aubree and baby Hildebrand; brother, Chuck (Pat) Barlow; sisters: Marge (Tom) Ruhberg; Darlene Gilson; Virginia Barlow; nieces; nephews; also lifelong friends, Sally Jennett and her family , and Charlie and Diane Hansen and family, extended family members and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; step father, Vern Buehler; brothers, Cecil Barlow and Harry Gilson; daughter-in-law, Sandra Frank; grandchild, Fredrick Hinkeldey; granddaughter-in-law and granddaughter, Dani and Piper, and her buddy, Russell Jennett.
