Aspen Alexis Kilbane

Aspen Alexis Kilbane, age 30, of Ankeny, Iowa died October 22, 2024 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. There will be no services at this time. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Aspen was born September 11, 1994 in Fort Carson, Colorado. She attended Alta-Aurelia School, graduating in 2013. In 2018, she went on to graduate from Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa. She received a degree in Billing and Coding. On January 13, 2024, Aspen was united in marriage to Meredith Kilbane in Ankeny, Iowa. With this marriage, Aspen welcomed a stepdaughter, Kaitlyn Heermann. Aspen was active in promoting the importance of organ donation. She worked as a healthcare billing coordinator. In her free time, Aspen loved to do random crafts, especially diamond art and melting beads. She could be found binge watching TV series. She wanted to take trips to Colorado (where she was born), Florida, Tennessee (country music was her favorite), Galena, Illinois, and many other destinations. Most of all, Aspen loved to swing at the park from the first time she was put in a swing until the week prior to her passing. Aspen also loved to sit outside and enjoy the warmth of the sun (she was always cold) and she enjoyed going for walks. There is not enough paper or time to write about the love and care she had for anyone who entered her life. She will be remembered for her beautiful face, contagious laugh, shining smile, and goofiness. Everyone loved her. Left to cherish Aspen’s memory include her beloved wife: Meredith Kilbane of Ankeny, Iowa; father: Raymond (Kristy) Wiederholt; mother: Kara (Eric) Langner; stepdaughter: Kaitlyn Heermann of Ankeny, Iowa; brothers: Christopher Langner of Polk City, Iowa; Jamein (Jenny) Wiederholt of Ankeny, Iowa; Devin (Elizabeth) Mason of Hartley, Iowa; sisters: Haley Owens of Fonda, Iowa; Courtney (Xavier) Auen of Farnhamville, Iowa; Corrine (Nicholas) Beazley of Aurelia, Iowa; Taya (Todd) Mason of Hartley, Iowa; grandparents: Ursula (Paul) Henningson of Albert City, Iowa; Mike and Diane Langer of Ankeny, Iowa; Fran Lundberg of Albert City, Iowa; mother-in-law: Jackie Kilbane of Des Moines, Iowa; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Preceded in death by father-in-law: Robert Kilbane of Nashua, New Hampshire; grandparents: Raymond and Loyce Wiederholt of Elk River, Minnesota; uncle: Randall Zirfas of Germany; and cousin: Thomas Davis of Dassel, Minnesota.
